About

IMG_9859V Fusion Studio was created 6 years ago by Vicky Waterman, who is a classically trained professional ballerina dancing with several dance companies including the Chicago Ballet.  Shortly after Vicky opened the studio she hired Rachel Kowal as of the studio’s TRX instructor.  Through the years, Rachel and Vicky worked closely and grew as co-workers, friends, and eventually became business partners in Volée.  Today Volée Method is offered as a class and a trainer certification nationally.  Vicky sold the business to Rachel Kowal and her partner Kurtis Ost in Dec 2015 so that she could work for Volée full time and spread this awesome workout while Rachel and Kurt stay behind to run the studio and keep a headquarters for Volée.

Rachel Kowal is a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist.  She started teaching group fitness in 2002, became a Certified Personal Trainer with American Council of Exercise in 2003, just recently certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist in 2014, and owns her own personal training company RK Method, LLC in addition to owning V Fusion.   In her youth, Rachel was a competitive gymnast and cheerleader.  Rachel has dedicated her life to fitness and has so much passion for helping others find strength in fitness just as she has.

Kurtis Ost became a Pilatesenthusiast in 2010, he was 240 pounds.  Kurt worked on reformers before being referred to Rachel Kowal for suspension training, and he lost 70 pounds.  After some time, he added Pilates classes with Vicky as well.   He went on to further his knowledge and received a Pilates mat Certification in 2015.   Kurt also started Fitness Fabricators LLC after he created the prototype of Rachel Kowal’s design of the Volée Strap used in training at the studio.  Kurt works closely with Rachel and Vicky outfitting studios and trainers with the equipment for Volée Method.  Kurt is a current V Fusion Studio owner also with his partner Rachel.

“I believe that between Rachel’s RK method personal training, Fitness Fabricators equipment, Volée Method, and V Fusion studio we have built something with a sum greater than its parts.  Rachel and I hope that you benefit from the surplus” –Kurtis Ost.
